Enamored|Pond Meeting
Pandora squinted her eyes in the morning light. The birds had begun their morning song over an hour ago, but the light seemed to catch up to them slowly. The amber kukuri yawned, beginning to stretch her legs as she walked. The damp forest floor full of leaf litter and moss was oddly comfortable, although she’d been used to the outdoors for a very long time. It felt like an eternity ago that Pandora had known human comfort, so she dismissed those thoughts right away. Padding along, she followed the trail she normally took every morning to get water. Ferns lined the path she’d made, deciduous trees towered over with their shaking leaves, and brambles grew tangled beneath. A few stones and crystals she’d found over time had littered the soft dirt path, her own way of decorating she supposed. The pond’s sounds met Pandora’s ears before she could see it. Fish splashing softly, frogs croaking, birds taking baths. The smell of clean water was inviting once she arrived, and so she drank.
